Main works

1917 - Nigger Rhapsody, kindly provocative and « fauvist » work.

18-19 - The Bestiary, on an Appolinaire’s poems, melodies which are the first success in a kind where he was recognized as very important composer.

20 - “Groupe des Six” creation around Jean Cocteau ( Poulenc was naturally one of the brightest)

21-24 - Poulenc studies the composition with Koechlin. He is influenced in his music by Satie.

26 - He met the baryton Pierre Bernac for whom he composed many melodies.
